A Big Thank You To The California Center For The Arts!

We had a wonderful school visit to Central Elementary's 2nd and 3rd grade on Friday. Then on Saturday we lead a "Make Your Own Picture Book" workshop at the museum's fantastic art studio. We had artists of all ages creating really beautiful accordion books using watercolor resist.

A special thanks to Stella Karl, Museum Coordinator and Kirsten Vega, Education Coordinator for making our visit so enjoyable. And thank you Joy Chu for inviting us to be a part of the "Writing with Pictures" exhibition. We were extremely honored to hang alongside so many other wonderfully talented storytellers!

We loved visiting Central Elementary and meeting the 2nd and 3rd graders. I (Courtenay) grew up in Escondido and this was where I attended 1st grade.

We had so much fun leading the Museum's Second Saturday Art Workshop!
So many talented artists of all ages.

Rhino's next adventures? Making sun kisses and moon hugs?

Moms and Dads, as well as the kids, tapped into their creative sides. What a great way
for families to connect...over crayons and watercolors!

Reading to a lovely audience of kids, art lovers and other authors and illustrators.

It's always fun to sell books and hear other peoples' stories.

What do you do when you have the museum space to yourself? You geek out, of course!
