We're Headed to the SCBWI Conference Weekend

The SCBWI yearly West Coast conference started today and we are once again excited to attend and meet all sorts of cool and creative people.

Last year, we were right in the middle of our Kickstarter campaign and the book was almost finished, but still a couple of months away from being printed. We went to that first conference eager to soak up as much information and to meet as many people as we could. And to have fun (because what's the point if you're not having fun, right?)

We learned so much and came away from that weekend with an energized "we can do it" attitude. And we did!

It's been a busy year promoting Sun Kisses, Moon Hugs. We've been so lucky and blessed to have an amazing community of supporters. From book signings and school visits to working with inspiring organizations like A Window Between Worlds and Koreh LA, the book has sent X & Os far and wide!

At A Window Between Worlds community event in April.

And now we're here at the conference again, ready to soak up lots more info and get inspired all over again. It's just nice to be in a room full of people who get what you're doing.

Happy Conference Weekend! Oh, in celebration of the SCBWI Conference, we're doing a Sun Kisses, Moon Hugs eBook giveaway (a $6.99 value) this weekend only on Amazon. Get your copy now!

xoxo Courtenay and Susan

ps...spread the word about the free eBook download. Thanks!

A Big Thank You to the La Jolla Community and Warwick's Bookstore!

Enjoying a few hours signing books at the oldest family owned bookstore in America!

Susan with three of her inspiring high school teachers.
We had a lovely afternoon in La Jolla, CA signing books and seeing old friends (and making new friends too!)

We started with a lovely reading and reception in the local park and then headed over to Warwick's for our book signing. The staff couldn't have been nicer, even giving each of us a bottle of wine! Woo-hoo! Books and wine...it doesn't get better than that.

Many of Susan's high school friends and teachers, as well as family, came out to support the event so it was a truly special afternoon for her.

We even got a little write up in the local paper, the La Jolla Light. See what they had to say here: http://www.lajollalight.com/2013/07/25/author-returns-to-la-jolla-to-celebrate-book-release/

Thank you, Warwick's! If you're in the area, definitely drop in. It's a wonderful bookstore.
