Connecting Children to a Love of Reading!

We were so delighted to donate copies of our book to Koreh LA, an amazing organization that connects kids with books and reading mentors to promote literacy in Los Angeles.  We hope that our book will touch some young hearts and minds of children, and spark in them the same love of reading and creative writing that has enriched our lives!

We are now developing lesson plans to be used with the book, as well as a presentation to use during school visits and presentations.  It is very fulfilling to use skills I learned in my teacher training years ago...Courtenay and I are grateful we have been able to keep those skills sharp in our role as classroom volunteers at our children's elementary school....also incredibly thankful for the amazing network of parents, educators and professionals who are contributing their ideas and expertise!  If you have suggestions for activities/projects/lessons to tie-in with the book, please send them along to us at xoxo@sunkissesmoonhugs.com.

Operation Gratitude: Delivered!

We delivered a case of books to Operation Gratitude last week, as part of our donation outreach made possible by the Kickstarter drive.  It's wonderful to think that our books will soon be in the hands of kids whose parents have been deployed overseas...so hard on the families to be separated for months at a time, especially at this time of year.  They sent 50,000 care packages to kids last year, and tons more to the deployed soldiers!  So we are just a drop in a very big bucket....but it's a big fat raindrop of PURE LOVE!  xoxo Susan
